You can be sure of high standards, modern facilities, cutting-edge technology, tailored support and value for money whichever of the many courses you decide to undertake in any of our partner universities/colleges.
Not only will you enjoy high quality education, but also by studying in the UK you will place yourself in a great position to experience the UK and the rest of Europe.
In today’s global economy, graduate employers value the skills and experience that students gain from an international education.
The global market makes it increasingly desirable to have some experience of different countries and cultures, and studying in the UK will give you this advantage.
By studying in the UK you will gain a wealth of knowledge, exposure and skills that will help you in your future career.
- Quality
A qualification from a UK institution is very prestigious, as standards are high at all levels. The qualifications students gain are recognised worldwide.
- Variety
UK universities and colleges offer a huge range of academic and vocational opportunities available at all levels, from further to higher education.
The higher education sector ranges from traditional seats of learning that have existed for hundreds of years to modern, state-of-the-art universities.
You can choose from a partner institution located in the heart of a city or a purpose-built countryside campus with a host of facilities on site.
- Value for money
One of the most attractive features of studying in the UK is that it offers good value for money. Most undergraduate degrees take three years, making them shorter than similar programs in other countries and very cost-effective. Some postgraduate degrees only last for one year (as opposed to two in other countries), which means you can finish your degree more quickly and start earning more in the workforce.
There are also a number of scholarships, and some financial assistance is available from UK institutions and possibly from institutions in your own country.
- Healthcare
As a full-time student, you will be entitled to free medical treatment from the British National Health Service.
- Vibrant and exciting
The UK is an exciting place in which to be a student, with thriving music, arts, and sports scenes, and, as there are many opportunities to either experience or take part in these yourself, you should never be short of something to do.
- A Cosmopolitan society
In every major city, you will find every imaginable type of food from all around the world, places of worship for all major religions and speakers of many of the world’s languages.
UK institutions attract students from all over the world, so you will have the opportunity to mix with international as well as UK students.
The general rule for entry to the UK is relatively straightforward: if you have secured a place in full-time study at a reputable educational institution you may enter the UK as a student.
This means you must be studying for at least 15 hours a week, and have enough money to pay for your studies, accommodation and expenses (and those of any dependents), while living in the UK.
If you are a visa-national and will need to apply for a student visa at the British Embassy/Consulate/High Commission in your home country. HCI Immigration will guide you every step of the way through the entire process.
The international Graduate Scheme (Also known as Tier 1 enables students from non-EEA countries who have successfully completed and obtained a bachelor’s degree (second-class honours or above), postgraduate certificate or diploma, master’s degree or PhD on or after 1 May 2007 to stay in the UK to look for, or to take, work for an additional two years after their degree course finishes without getting a work permit. If you want to remain in the UK beyond this time, you can switch into an appropriate immigration category to pursue your career (Please see the relevant section of the website for more information).
Also If you successfully complete a course at degree level or above awarded by a Scottish institution, you may be able to apply to live and work in Scotland for up to two years after achieving your qualification under the current Tier 1 system.
You can travel to the UK as a prospective student for up to six months to arrange your studies. You will need to show that:
- You intend to enrol on a course of study within six months of arriving in the UK.
- You can pay for your course, support yourself and your dependants, and live without working or needing any help from public funds, and
- You intend to leave the UK when you finish your studies or when your permission
You should apply in good time for us to be able to assist you with your enrolment and visa applications so that you are not delayed in getting into the UK. It can get very busy in visa sections, especially over the summer when lots of students are applying.
Choosing a course
When choosing a course, you must think about two things. Firstly, what level of course you are looking for, and secondly what subjects you are interested in.
Whatever type of course you are interested in studying, you will be able to find it in the UK. Colleges and universities offer many different subjects for study, from sciences right through to law and politics.
When deciding which course to apply for, ask yourself the following questions:
- Which subjects am I interested in?
- Which career might I like to pursue when I finish the course?
Once you’ve answered the above questions, you should contact us for a shortlist of courses and UK universities that offers such courses and the most recent prospectus, entry requirements and their application forms. You should return your application with the following documents
- Certified copies of your certificates.
- A certified copy of your transcript detailing your course subjects and grades.
- Details of relevant interests or work experience.
- Two letters of recommendation from your former teachers or employers.
If you are selected, the college will send us your offer letter, which you will need to sign a copy and send back to the college with payment for the deposit or full tuition fee.
When the college receives your acceptance letter and payment, a confirmation letter and visa support letter will be sent to you usually 4 weeks before the course start date.
